Dislikes: Campground on line made it appear bigger than it really was. Would have liked more lighting in dog park at night.
Overall: Loved it & would come back & recommend to others. Very affordable. (34′ Travel Trailer 10/09 – 10/12)

Nothing to do: I’m at a loss here. Most of our campers come her for the peace and quiet, but many of them also come here because there is so much to do in the area. The Blue Ridge Parkway is 5 miles away, Mt Mitchell (the highest mountain peak east of the Mississippi) is just a few miles up the Parkway, the Folk Art Center is just a few miles further up the Parkway, there are numerous waterfalls (seven in McDowell county alone and many more in adjacent counties), gem mines around Little Switzerland, gold mines south of Marion, Linville Caverns about 15 miles north of Marion, Lake James on the east side of Marion has public boat ramps and boat rentals, the Historic Carson House 7 miles away at the bottom of the mountain, the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, and Grandfather Mountain, Chimney Rock, Blowing Rock and Tweetsie Railroad (Wild West Theme Park) are all within about an hour’s drive. There is plenty to do and see in the area, but you do have go to them. You won’t see them sitting sitting on your campsite.
Ron and Becky, thank you for all your hard work to keep your campsite so beautiful! We look forward to returning often. (26′ Travel Trailer 05/15 – 05/19)
